MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses)

MOOCs are free online courses available to anyone, regardless of location or background. Within the HEROES alliance, MOOCs offer students and staff the opportunity to access high-quality learning materials developed by partner universities, supporting continuous professional development and virtual internationalisation.

COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning)

COIL is a virtual exchange model that connects classrooms across different countries through collaborative online projects. Students work together with peers from HEROES partner universities on joint assignments, developing intercultural competences and international experience without the need to travel.

Traineeships / Internships Abroad

Traineeships and internships abroad give students the opportunity to gain practical work experience at a company, organisation, or institution in another country. Supported through Erasmus+ funding, these placements help students develop professional skills, expand their networks, and experience a new working culture.

Summer Schools

Summer schools are intensive short-term programmes held during the summer period, bringing together students from HEROES partner universities. They focus on specific academic or professional topics, combining lectures, workshops, and cultural activities in an international environment.

Joint Programmes

Joint programmes are study programmes developed and delivered by two or more HEROES partner universities. Students study at multiple institutions and receive a joint or double degree upon completion, gaining a truly international academic experience and a qualification recognised across Europe.

Study Visits

Study visits are short-term visits to a partner university or organisation, designed to give students and staff an insight into different academic systems, research facilities, and professional environments. They foster knowledge exchange and strengthen cooperation between HEROES alliance institutions.
