This week, 40 students and 5 lecturers from Denmark, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Germany, Portugal, and the Czech Republic are working together at UCN in Aalborg.
They have gathered for an international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) under the HEROES Alliance – the first BIP of its kind hosted by UCN.
The challenge: How can industrial technologies successfully enter new global markets?
Working in multicultural teams, participants explore how technological industrial products can be introduced internationally. Using real-life business cases from Actulux A/S and Dantherm Group in northern Denmark, they focus on:
• how products may need to be adapted for different markets
• how cultural context influences collaboration and marketing
• how small and medium-sized companies can approach global scaling
“You gain a cultural understanding you can bring with you – not just academically, but in how you collaborate. We work differently, and that becomes clear when we solve tasks together. It can be challenging, but it’s definitely valuable experience for the future workplace.”
— Jacob Ejlertsen, Export and Technology student at UCN
Beyond the classroom, participants have also explored northern Denmark, visiting local companies and enjoying a trip to the North Sea Oceanarium.
Today, the student teams will present their final solutions and recommendations – and we look forward to seeing the outcomes.
