As a HEROES student, you join an international community where learning goes beyond classrooms and borders. You get access to joint courses, exchange opportunities, and challenge-based projects with peers across Europe. This means more chances to grow your skills, build your network, and shape solutions for real-world challenges. All while experiencing different cultures and regions.
Student Council
The HEROES Student Council brings together elected student representatives from all partner universities. It ensures that students have a strong voice in shaping the future of our alliance.
As an active part of HEROES’ governance, the Student Council participates in key meetings alongside the Board of Presidents, the Steering Committee, and other decision-making bodies. This way, students contribute directly to the development of joint education, research, and community initiatives.
Since the very first Semi-Annual Meeting in Seinäjoki (Finland) in May 2025, the Student Council has played a central role in representing the student perspective, sharing ideas across borders, and helping to co-create a resilient, inclusive, and innovative European learning community.
Students will soon be able to join international learning activities, short programmes, research initiatives, and community projects developed across the alliance. As the programme grows, new opportunities will be added regularly.

Over the past year, Claudia Duedal Højbert has been part of the HEROES University Alliance through the HEROES Student Council alongside her studies as a radiography student at UCN in Aalborg, Denmark. During this time, her engagement has developed into a hands‑on learning experience in international collaboration and project‑based work.
VIKO Graphic Design second-year student Anastasija Kotelnikova has won the HEROES University Alliance mascot design contest. Her creation, Kubicus — a curious, transformable character inspired by the Rubik’s cube — will soon appear across HEROES social media, events, and the website. But this story almost didn’t happen.
David Cismas doesn’t do things by halves. He runs marathons unprepared just to prove a point. He cycles from Brussels to Koblenz to celebrate European freedom. And when he sees a problem in international education, he doesn’t complain — he builds a solution from scratch.

For one master’s student, participating in a one-week Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in Vilnius became a defining moment for both personal and professional growth.
Yashar Asadzadeh didn’t expect international studies to be part of his journey. As a student in the bachelor’s programme in Innovation Engineering, his life in Gothenburg was already firmly established.
