We are HEROES, a transnational alliance of professional higher education institutions committed to transforming the talents of a new generation of EU citizens into superpowers that advance the smart regional resilience of people, businesses and nature.
HEROES strengthens the resilience of people, businesses, and nature by connecting professional higher education institutions across Europe. Through high-quality practice-based education, challenge-driven research, and close collaboration with regional partners, we equip students, staff, and communities with the skills and solutions needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
HEROES envisions a new generation of Europeans who turn their talents into superpowers for society. By bringing together students, lecturers, researchers, and local communities across borders, we co-create innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that make regions stronger, and Europe more resilient.

Students gain practical knowledge and skills through challenge-based modules, joint minors, and master programmes that focus on strengthening the resilience of people, businesses, and nature. By applying digital solutions in a human-centred and sustainable way, they help local ecosystems withstand disruptions and turn global challenges into regional opportunities.
This collaborative approach feeds into a shared research hub, where interdisciplinary knowledge and innovation deliver real impact.
From digital micro-credentials to MOOCs-for-credits, these programmes respond to the needs of the green and digital transitions and support lifelong learning.
