From 28 July to 2 August, Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) hosted the HEROES Summer School: Mind the Skill Gap – Future Skills Summer School.
15 students from Halmstad University, UCN, Vilniaus Kolegija/University of Applied Sciences, SEAMK – Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Instituto Politécnico de Beja and DIT came together for a week dedicated to developing future skills.
Through using tools as LEGO® Serious Play®, road mapping, live hacking, and escape room, students improved their knowledge in:
- Scenario Techniques
- SCRUM
- Creativity Tools
- Intercultural Competencies
- Cyber Security
Participants also visited Universität Passau and the DIT Technology Transfer Centre in Vilshofen, toured the DIT campus and Deggendorf city centre, and even enjoyed the local specialty Weißwurst.
By the end of the week, students had not only strengthened their skills and resilience to future challenges, but also built strong international friendships – making goodbyes the hardest part of the program.
This program was funded by DAAD and BMFTR.
