The HEROES Alliance has released the Skills and Competences Need Map Report, a  foundational study exploring future skills demands across nine European regions. The Skills and Competences Need Map identifies five key domains essential for navigating digital, green, and workforce transitions. These insights are vital for educators, employers, and policymakers working to build smart, resilient regions and future-ready professionals.

Micro-credentials are becoming an important element in the European approach to lifelong learning. Therefore, the HEROES Alliance has created a Joint Action Plan for Micro-credentials.

The plan brings together shared principles, practical guidance and common quality standards that make it possible for institutions within the alliance to design, assess and certify micro-credentials in a comparable way.In addition to defining the framework, the plan introduces concrete tools such as development templates, a detailed flowchart and methods for ECTS calculation. These support academic staff and administrative units in creating reliable, credit-bearing micro-credentials that can be recognized across borders.
